Each year, the Department of Philosophy invites Visiting Faculty to come teach courses or mini-seminars in order to supplement our course offerings. Visiting Faculty are selected on a number of grounds: sometimes to fill out some part of our basic curriculum while a regular faculty member is on leave, sometimes to provide courses which we are otherwise not able to offer, and sometimes simply because there is popular demand to have a particular individual come give a course in our department. NB: The Visiting Faculty listed below stayed the entire academic year at Chicago unless otherwise indicated.
