MA Degree in Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy does not admit students directly into an MA program, but a MA degree in Philosophy can be awarded to students who are enrolled in another PhD program at the University of Chicago and who complete the required philosophy graduate coursework and field requirements. After completing at least three philosophy graduate courses, those students should contact the Department Administrator in the Department of Philosophy about application procedures and departmental MA guidelines.
