Hannah holds an MA in Philosophy from Columbia University and a B. Mus. In Oboe Performance from Ithaca College. Her central philosophical interests are in aesthetics and philosophy of art, particularly philosophy of music and metaphor. Her dissertation project gives an account of metaphor on which we can understand ascription of emotional expressiveness to musical works as both metaphorical and robustly meaningful. She has side interests in issues in the philosophy of science and in early modern women philosophers, particularly Mary Shepherd and Sor Juana de la Cruz.
