Matthew Landauer is Associate Professor of Political Science.  His primary research interests are in classical political thought, democratic theory, and rhetoric and political discourse.  His research focuses primarily on ancient Greek political institutions and practices and the historical, conceptual, and normative questions they raise. He is the author of Dangerous Counsel: Accountability and Advice in Ancient Greece (University of Chicago Press, 2019).
