• Workshops are usually interdisciplinary groups that meet for the purpose of discussing areas of mutual interest. In addition to this sensible intellectual rationale, workshops offer graduate students opportunites to present their work and to comment on faculty work in progress. Outside speakers are frequently invited by workshops as well.
