Faculty Appointments and Searches

2015-2016

The Department of Philosophy conducted two faculty searches in 2015-2016: Assistant Professor in Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy, Tenure-track; and Assistant Professor in Ethics, Tenure-track, first or second year. The second of these searches resulted in the hiring of Matthias Haase. The Department also hired Professor Matt Boyle.

2014-2015

The Department of Philosophy conducted four faculty searches in 2014-2015. Assistant Professor Early Modern Philosophy, Tenure Track; Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, or Associate Professor of German Idealism (no appointment made); Assistant Professor of Philosophy of Science, Tenure Track (Thomas Pashby will begin his apointment in Fall 2016); Professor, Tenure Track, German Idealism.

2012-2013
The Department of Philosophy conducted three faculty searches in 2012-2013: Assistant Professor in Ethics, Tenure-track; Assistant Professor in the Philosophy of Science, Tenure-track; Assistant Professor in 20th Century and Contemporary Continental Philosophy, Tenure-track. The third of these searches led to the appointment of Raoul Moati.

2011 - 2012
The Department of Philosophy conducted two faculty searches in 2011-2012: Assistant Professor in Ethics, Tenure-track and Assistant Professor in the Philosophy of Science, Tenure-track. No appointments were made.

2010 - 2011
The Department of Philosophy conducted three faculty searches in 2010-2011: Early Modern Philosophy, Ethics, and Metaphyisics & Epistemology. The first and the third of these searches led to the appointments of Anat Schechtman and Anubav Vasudevan respectively.

2009 - 2010
The Department of Philosophy conducted four faculty searches and made four new appointments in 2009-2010, adding Christopher Frey, Ben Laurence, Marko Malink, and Malte Willer to our faculty. Christopher Frey and Malte Willer began their appointments in the Fall Quarter of 2010. The starting date of the appointments of Ben Laurence and Marko Malink were deferred for one year, so they officially joined our faculty in the Fall Quarter of 2011.

2008 - 2009
The Department of Philosophy conducted three faculty searches in 2008-2009 and decided not to make any offers.

2007 - 2008
The Department of Philosophy conducted three faculty searches and made two new appointments in 2007-2008, appointing Agnes Gellen Callard Neubauer Family Assistant Professor of Philosophy and appointing Ben Callard Lecturer in Philosophy and Philosophy/MAPH Coordinator.
